-
Be patient. A lot of Texas Hold’em poker strategy is based on the cards in your hand.
-
You must be ready so sit through a series of poor hands, for example 5-8, 2-6, 4-9, without becoming impatient.
-
Don't waste your chips trying to make something out of nothing. Better cards will come!
-
Watch the face-up cards. All of the face-up cards are community cards that all players share.
-
You need to focus on what those cards could mean to other players’ hands as much as you focus on what they mean to you.
-
It is especially important that you keep your eyes open for the other players’ straight and flush possibilities.
-
Show no emotions. When you look at your cards, be careful not to reveal anything with your reaction – whether it’s a facial expression, a sigh, or a deep breath. That’s why the word “poker face” was coined: showing no emotions.
